About Japan Through Your Lens

Japan in 2075

Japan Through Your Lens is a 1-minute film competition where students in Grades 6-8 share their vision of Japan in the year 2075. Working in small teams, they:

  • Write a script and plan a storyboard
  • Film scenes using a phone, tablet, or camera
  • Edit their footage into a polished short film

The finished movies are screened at the Expo in front of students, teachers, and judges, a stage for young voices to be heard through storytelling.

Why Participate?

This competition helps students learn how to communicate ideas through media while working as a team.

  • Builds creativity through writing and visual storytelling
  • Teaches collaboration and responsibility (each team member has a role)
  • Strengthens English use in a real, engaging way
  • Gives the thrill of seeing their work on the big screen

It’s a chance to turn imagination into cinema!
